Saturday: Totnes, Aveton Gifford, Bantham

Drove to Totnes. The satnav took us down some windy lanes, in the middle of one of which was a Buzzard eating a rabbit.

At Totnes, we had a look around. Got a paper and a coffee. On the high street, we bumped into friend Nick J from Bristol who had been doing sound for a band at Buckfastleigh last night.

Then we went to Aveton Gifford and walked from the village car park to the South Efford Marsh nature reserve. From the hide we saw a distant Kingfisher and had close-up views of a Grey Wagtail.

Lunch at the Sloop Inn at Bantham (very nice mussels, cheese sandwich), and then walked around the beach and dunes.

Dinner

After dinner we played scrabble twice. J won. It’s mostly luck.
