Wednesday: St Davids, Solva

We checked out of Twr Y Felin and parked in the car park in St Davids. We looked round the Cathedral. The floor is sloping and the columns are on the slant – though you don’t notice it in the photo.

Had a coffee in the Cathedral cafe. We bought sandwiches for lunch in a deli in St Davids.

Then we caught the 11:45 bus to Solva.

From Solva we walked out along the estuary and followed the coast path back to St Davids.

Solva

Glorious sunny day, clear skies, blue seas, cliffs, Skomer and guano-topped Grassholm in the distance. Ate lunch on the cliff. Lots of Stonechats. Some Choughs.

Back at St Davids we bought some provisions at the butchers and had a cup of tea / beer in a cafe. R bought some fins from a surf shop as he’d forgotten to bring his (snorkelling planned for Friday). Then we went to the supermarket to get some more provisions and drove to our Ynys Barry self-catering place.

Traffic jam on the way.

It’s nice, there are a few cottages but we’re the only people here. Venison sausages for tea.
