Nant Ddu Lodge was disappointing, so last night we booked one night at Peterstone Court, 20 minutes drive away, where we’ve stayed before. We checked out of Nant Ddu and as there was no duty manager present we’d have to contact them separately to get a refund for our second night. Never mind, it was good to be out of that dump.
We went to the Garwnant Visitor Centre and walked around the trails by the river and through the woods. Saw Redstart, Bullfinch, etc.
We had lunch in the cafe, chips and salad. Then we went 10 minutes up the road and parked in the lay-by at Craig Cerrig Gleisiad. We walked up the path for a mile or so and then just sat for an hour in the sunshine. We had a nice view of a Whinchat, singing in a small Birch tree.
Then we went to Peterstone Court where we can’t quite believe how large and luxurious and immaculate our room is, and the bar is quiet and the beer is nice and the whole place is very classy. (And somehow, it’s cheaper then Nant Ddu Lodge.)
Lovely meal.
